Grilling cheese with chilli
Taverna grilling cheese is a firm, slightly salty cheese that develops a wonderfully delicious texture and a host of taste qualities when cooked. The lightly salted, acidic flavour of the cheese suits most dishes and goes really well with most salads and hot dishes. It also serves as a good filling for light dishes and fresh salads due its high protein content.
Taverna grilling cheese is an easy and simple everyday solution produced using good Danish milk from a Danish dairy. The grilling cheese is also available with chilli or pesto.
Isn’t grilling cheese just for grilling? No it’s not. It tastes just as good in the frying pan in the winter as it does on the grill in the summer so it can actually be enjoyed all year round.
Grilling cheese is a member of the Halloumi family, which is a Cypriot speciality.
Preparation:The cheese is cut into slices of 8-10 mm thick. Place the grilling cheese slices on a grill or pan (without the lid) and grill or fry the slices for 1-2 minutes on either side until they are golden Brown.
